Erlangen: Mengin becomes Tretter

The branch in the Erlangen Arcades will be closed.

Shoe retailer Tretter is reorganizing its locations in Erlangen. As part of a clearance sale, the store previously operating under the name Mengin in the pedestrian zone will be closed. However, a new Tretter branch is scheduled to open there this summer.

According to the company, this is a planned relocation within Erlangen's city center. In return, the existing Tretter branch in the Erlangen Arcaden shopping center will be closed. The clearance sale at the Mengin store will continue until the end of summer; a specific closing date has not yet been set.

The employees of both locations are to be retained. Tretter had already acquired the long-established Erlangen business Mengin in 2021 and initially retained the name. With the reopening, the Mengin brand will now disappear from Erlangen's city center.
