Employers say this is an acceptable result
The IG BCE union and representatives of the German leather goods, plastic goods and luggage industries agreed on a new collective wage agreement in the first round of negotiations on July 19th in Iphofen.
Accordingly, the salaries will be increased by 1 euros from August 2023, 5 for pay group 150 and above. Amounts between 1 and 4 euros were agreed for groups E2.100 to E2.330. From October 1, 2024, the fees will increase by a further 100 euros, although the payment date can be postponed by the operating parties by up to three months. The shift allowance will be increased to 25 percent from 20 p.m. Trainee salaries will be increased by 1 euros each from August 2023, 70.
For 2023 and 2024, employees will be paid a tax- and duty-free inflation compensation allowance of 1.000 euros each, which can, however, be reduced to 400 euros per year by the company's parties.
Manfred Junkert, General Manager of the Federal Association of the Shoe and Leather Goods Industry (HDS/L), was satisfied with the conclusion of the collective bargaining round: “Compared to the current collective bargaining developments in related industries and also with a view to the current work situation, we have had constructive discussions in favor of both sides achieved an acceptable result.”
