Sport 2000 GmbH and ECC European Clearingcenter GmbH are continuing their long-term collaboration in digital data exchange. A new contract extends the cooperation, which began in 2021, for the processing and transmission of product master data and EDI data.
The agreement covers the entire seven-country Sport 2000 network, comprising Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, and the Czech Republic. The aim is to further automate processes and expand cross-border data exchange between trade and industry.
Since 2025, ECC's sporting goods business has been consolidated by the newly founded ECC Sports GmbH, headquartered in Ohlsdorf, Austria. According to the company, more than 1.200 brands in the sports, footwear, and fashion sectors now exchange their product master data and EDI data through the ECC Group. The network comprises more than 9.000 retail locations in ten countries.
“We will continue to expand Sport 2000’s data-driven services and see the collaboration with the ECC as an essential pillar for rounding off our data offering,” says Volker Gromer, Senior Head of Business & Market Services at Sport 2000.
ECC Managing Director Stefan Nicolai describes the contract extension as "a strong signal for the entire market." Christian Kreuzer, Managing Director of ECC Sports GmbH, sees it as a key building block for the further expansion of the European sports data community.
Sport 2000 GmbH comprises approximately 2.000 sporting goods stores operating in seven countries. These stores generated external sales of around €4,4 billion in 2025. Sport 2000 is part of the ANWR Group.
