Dr. Sascha Schmidt takes over management of the department at SGS Institut Fresenius
With Dr. Sascha Schmidt (45), the SGS Institut Fresenius has gained a manager with experience in the textiles, footwear and clothing industries to expand the “Softlines” division. As Head of Softlines, the Cologne native reports directly to Robert Kronhofer in this newly created position, who is responsible for the entire C&P division at SGS with around 400 employees in Germany.
Dr. Sascha Schmidt is a member of the DIN standards committees for material testing (NMP) in the areas of “Textile chemical test methods and fiber separation”, “Chemical test methods for leather” and “Overview analyzes (screenings) for substances of particular concern”. He is also active in “cads” (cooperation for secured, defined standards for shoe and leather goods products). The state-certified food chemist has been active in these industries since 2015 and most recently worked at the testing institutes Hermes Hansecontrol and UL International.
