Creditors' meeting approves insolvency plan of the Hamburg shoe chain
According to the company, the creditors of the Hamburg chain store Schuhkay GmbH & Co. KG (Schuhkay 1882) accepted the insolvency plan on February 8th without any dissenting votes. This means that the prerequisites for the cancellation of the procedure are met. Managing director and owner Steffen Liebich expects the insolvency proceedings to be completed by the end of February. The company will continue with 21 branches.
The insolvent company, which had 30 branches at the time, was taken over by Berlin entrepreneur Steffen Liebich's Goal investment company at the end of April. The insolvency proceedings under self-administration were opened in June. In November 2019, Liebich took over the also insolvent Schuhhaus Kay GmbH & Co. KG with 24 branches, which also operates under the name Schuhkay. In addition to Schuhkay, Steffen Liebich also owns the Leiser, Schuhhof, Anika and Schlatholt shoe chains.
