ANWR board spokesman moves into leadership of the medium-sized business association
Frank Schuffelen, CEO of ANWR Group eG, and Dr. Alexander von Preen, Chairman of the Board of Intersport Deutschland eG, was elected to the executive board of the Mittelstandsverbund - ZGV eV at the association's virtual general meeting on May 26th. Schuffelen has been the board spokesman for Europe's largest shoe association since this year. After serving as board member and chief financial officer (CFO) of Garant Schuh + Mode AG from 2006 to 2013, he took up his role as board member of ANWR Group eG in 2011 - also as chairman of the supervisory board of DZB Bank and Aktivbank AG. Dr. Alexander von Preen has been CEO of Intersport since November 1, 2018.
In addition, the members unanimously confirmed President Eckhard Schwarzer, deputy chairman of the board of Datev eG, as president of the medium-sized business association for another two years. Schwarzer had already taken over the role as managing director on December 1, 2019. The temporary change to the head of the Presidium took place after the statutory departure of President Günter Althaus.
The association, based in Berlin and Brussels, represents the interests of around 230.000 medium-sized companies that are organized in 310 association groups.
