The SABU GmbH Southeast Working Group met in Burgau to discuss current future topics for brick-and-mortar shoe retailers. The conference, led by Peter Wagner, focused on digitalization, online visibility, and business succession at Laufgut Ehmann.
The shoe store will be continued as a general partnership (OHG) by Michael Hackenberg and Stephanie Benningen, the owners of men's fashion stores Hackenberg and Mode Frey. The product range will be given a more fashionable focus and will include brands such as Tamaris. At the same time, brands like Finn Comfort and the connection to the orthopedic workshop will be retained. The previous owner, Irene Ehmann, will continue to work part-time for the company.

Other presentations dealt with SABU.de, the SABU data world, and the possibilities of a stronger digital presence and data-based assortment management.
During the conference, Siegrid Lechner-Rummel, Irene Ehmann, and Peter John were also bid farewell as long-standing members of the ERFA group. "This conference has shown how closely farewells and new beginnings are sometimes intertwined in the retail sector," explained ERFA leader Peter Wagner.
