Maria Valdes appointed Chief Brand Officer
The sports company Puma is restructuring its brand organization and consolidating the areas of product development, innovation, go-to-market, and brand marketing into a single structure. The goal is to more closely integrate product development and brand communication.
As part of this reorganization, Maria Valdes (41), previously Chief Product Officer, will assume the newly created role of Chief Brand Officer. She will be responsible for the combined divisions of Brand Marketing, Product, Creative Direction, Innovation, and Go-to-Market at the Executive Board level. Valdes has been a member of Puma's Executive Board since 2023.
The previous area of responsibility for Brand Marketing, which reported directly to CEO Arthur Hoeld, will be integrated into the new structure. The Go-to-Market department, previously part of Chief Commercial Officer Matthias Bäumer's portfolio, will also be transferred to Valdes's area of responsibility. Sports Marketing, however, will remain independent and will report directly to the CEO in the future. The new organizational structure takes effect immediately.
