Renewal of certificates is made easier during the Corona pandemic
Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, Oeko-Tex is temporarily adjusting the processes regarding the renewal of certificates and streamlining the effort for production facilities. Certificate renewals and new applications should continue to occur so that the manufacturing processes of individual retailers and companies are not held up and jeopardized.
The Ecopassport, STeP, Leather Standard and Standard 100 certificates will be renewed for existing and known certificate holders during the ongoing crisis by the responsible institutes, initially without submitting samples. These must be submitted by the certificate holder within the next three months. The institutes then check for known standards and limit values. If no sample is submitted within this period, the certificate will be withdrawn and invalid. The measures are only offered to well-known production sites. The validity date of the renewed certificates will be dated to the date of the original expiry including three additional months.
New certifications and applications are still possible within the responsible institutes if a sample is available and has been checked by the institute according to the usual criteria.
