A curated platform for fashion, shoes and accessories is scheduled to launch in February 2027.

The Dutch trade fair organizer Modefabriek plans to launch a new B2B event in the Rhine-Main region in February 2027. The premiere is scheduled to take place at the historic Fredenhagen industrial site in Offenbach. A name and exact date for the event have not yet been announced.

The new concept is aimed at commercial fashion brands from Germany, the Netherlands, and other European countries. It envisions a curated selection of womenswear, menswear, shoes, and accessories. Participating brands will be strategically matched with retailers whose product range and positioning complement the respective collections.

The organizer emphasizes that the event will be neither a German version of Modefabriek nor a copy of an existing trade fair. Rather, the aim is to create an independent platform with a personal touch. "We don't have to be the biggest," explains Modefabriek CEO Rick van Rijthoven. The crucial factor is that brands connect with the right retailers for them.

At the end of August, Modefabriek plans to present the concept in more detail at presentations in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Frankfurt. Interested brands will be able to obtain information there about the target retailer profiles and participation options. The number of exhibitor spaces at the Offenbach location is limited. The first participating brands and further program details will be announced shortly.

It remains to be seen what consequences the new project will have for the planned German edition of the Shift fashion trade fair. Its premiere in Offenbach, after several date changes, was most recently announced for January 2027. Van Rijthoven and Lucel van den Hoeven, the founders of Shift, fully acquired the Modefabriek in March. The company has not yet announced whether the newly presented format will replace Shift Germany.
