HVEG Fashion Group takes over RNF Group
The Dutch RNF Group, known for the fashion brand Mexx, among other things, is getting a new owner. It is being taken over by the HVEG Fashion Group, also from the Netherlands. The transaction is subject to approval by the Authority Consumer & Market (ACM). RNF founders Ferry Helmer and Ron Janssen will remain as shareholders and part of the board of directors after the transaction.
The RNF Group is an international player in the footwear and clothing industry. In addition to the Mexx brand, the company is known for its own brands Shabbies and Fred de la Bretoniere. It also holds several licenses for brands such as Umbro and Pantofola d'Oro.
The HVEG Fashion Group consists of a number of Dutch and German fashion and accessory companies. On behalf of its customers, the group designs, develops and produces private label fashion for women, men, children, babies and accessories. It also runs a number of brands such as Magic Bodyfashion, Sassa, Bamboo Basics and Brams Paris.
After the takeover, the new company's turnover in 2024 will be around 285 million euros. A total of around 530 people will be employed. The figures do not include the turnover generated from various Mexx licenses.
"The formation of this merger fulfills HVEG's growth strategy and our ambition to create a one-stop shop for a growing international customer base," says Mike van Snek, CEO of HVEG. "We also see many opportunities to further develop the Mexx brand in the coming years."
