Young talent award for alpine film ideas at the Tegernsee Mountain Film Festival
Outdoor footwear specialist Lowa, together with the Tegernsee International Mountain Film Festival, is launching its first-ever Young Talent Award. The €5.000 prize is aimed at filmmakers up to the age of 26 who impress with creative project ideas on alpine topics.
"For us, the mountain is a habitat, a challenge, and inspiration—not just a backdrop. This is precisely what we want to capture in the film," explains Ulf Michels, Head of Marketing at Lowa. Applications are open until September 1, 2025; the winning project will be announced at this year's festival (October 15–19) and is scheduled to premiere in 2026.
Since 2023, Lowa has been the main sponsor of the renowned festival, which attracts thousands of mountain film fans every year. With this award, both partners aim to empower young talent and open up fresh perspectives on the genre.
