Managing directors Mroz and Jung released
LDT Nagold and Reutlingen University want to work together on textile training in Germany in the future. To this end, the Faculty of Textiles & Design at Reutlingen University and the private Fashion Management Academy LDT Nagold and its sponsor, the BTE Textile Trade Association, have signed a declaration of intent. The study offerings should be coordinated in the medium term. The aim is to develop modern and contemporary study programs for young talent in the textile industry. The first changes in personnel have already taken place. The long-standing LDT managing directors Manfred Mroz and Rüdiger Jung, who had jointly managed the non-profit GmbH since 2004, were released. BTE managing director Rolf Pangels and long-time lecturer Bettina Grüninger will take over interim management until April 2021.
The initial plan is to make it easier for those completing the BTE textile business administration degree to make the transition to a bachelor's degree at Reutlingen University by recognizing their achievements. The ongoing study operations at the Nagold location will also be retained and the name LDT will remain. The BTE textile business administration training course, with its practice-oriented focus, should also be retained in principle, but will take on more modern forms in the future.
“Two heavyweights in textile education want to create something extraordinary together. If we succeed in this cooperation, we will offer the textile industry extensive and future-oriented opportunities to train its young talent,” said Steffen Jost, BTE President, about the signed declaration of intent.
The planned collaboration would “additionally strengthen Reutlingen and Nagold as a regional center for textile training in Germany at an excellent international level,” according to a joint statement. In this way, Reutlingen University is integrating all stages of the value chain in the textile sector, from industry to trade, into one concept and the LDT is gaining a knowledgeable partner in the textile industry.
