Another logistics location for Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof is about to close
The logistics location of the department store group Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof in Dietzenbach, Hesse is apparently threatened with closure in autumn 2020. Management communicated this to the 226 employees.
The location was part of Kaufhof logistics for decades. With the complete takeover of Galeria Kaufhof and the associated subsidiary Galeria Logistik by the Signa Group around René Benko and the associated merger with Karstadt, “the already endangered situation worsened dramatically around a year ago,” according to a statement the Verdi union. With the initiation of protective shield proceedings for Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof department stores, Galeria Logistik also found itself in similar insolvency proceedings in April of this year.
The department store group had previously separated from several Kaufhof logistics locations: Frechen and Erfurt as well as four smaller regional distribution warehouses in Stuttgart, Würzburg, Hanover and Berlin were affected.
