Brand board member Ije Nwokori replaces CEO Kenny Wilson
Dr. Martens gets a new boss. As the British shoe manufacturer announced, current CEO Kenny Wilson will be leaving office at the end of the financial year after six years. His successor will be Ije Nwokori, who only took on the newly created position of Chief Brand Officer in February, but has already been a member of the board of directors of Dr. Martens was. Nwokorie came from the technology group Apple, where he had worked as Senior Director of Apple Retail since January 2021.
The well-known shoe company is currently suffering from weak demand. Many customers are currently reducing their full inventory. Dr. Martens said its 2024 results are expected to be in line with market expectations. But the following year will be difficult. “The outlook for fiscal 2025 is challenging and the entire organization is focused on our action plan to revive boot demand, particularly in the United States, our largest market,” Wilson said.
