Clarks looking for investors

According to the media, the British shoe company is negotiating with private equity companies

According to media reports, the British shoe company Clarks is in negotiations with several private equity companies about a stake. It is said to be worth between 100 and 200 million pounds. The Clark family currently holds 85 percent of the shares in the company. These would be reduced if an investor got involved.

The news came a day after the company unveiled its new strategy, which includes cutting 900 jobs. The company started the process last week with 160 redundancies, including 108 at its Somerset headquarters. A further 700 employees are expected to leave the company in the next 18 months.
