Caprice takes over for Peter Kaiser

A wider range will be offered from spring/summer 2025

The Pirmasens-based shoe manufacturer Caprice has taken over the women's shoe brand Peter Kaiser. The subsidiary of Wortmann Schuh-Holding KG wants to continue the story of Peter Kaiser and preserve the core of the brand. While the fit and material quality are maintained, “the collections will be rejuvenated and the prices will be more attractive”.

“In the upper middle class segment, we already offer an excellent price-performance ratio with Caprice,” says Jürgen Cölsch, managing partner of Caprice Schuhproduktion GmbH & Co. KG. “With the Peter Kaiser brand registered in over seventy countries worldwide, we will now also be able to offer this in the higher segment.” While the lower and luxury genres are dominated by vertically integrated providers, the business area with the greatest potential lies with non-vertically positioned ones trading partners in between. “And that’s exactly where Caprice and Peter Kaiser will be positioned,” says Cölsch. The takeover promises not only a stronger positioning of the company on the market, but also an expanded product range.

“The integration of the Peter Kaiser brand into the proven processes of our subsidiary Caprice opens up new perspectives for growth and innovation. Peter Kaiser's unique identity will be preserved, while Caprice's core competencies will be used to expand the collections and offer customers a broader range from the spring/summer 2025 season," says Jens Beining, CEO of Wortmann Schuh-Holding KG .

“I am pleased to hand over the Peter Kaiser brand under the Caprice umbrella and thus continue to have a successful future at the birthplace of Peter Kaiser,” said Stefan Frank, Managing Director of Peter Kaiser Operations GmbH.

Frank took over the women's shoe manufacturer on March 1, 2021 together with investors Hans-Joachim and Gisa Sander from the Wella founding family. In September 2020, Peter Kaiser Schuhfabrik GmbH submitted an application to the Pirmasens district court to order protective shield proceedings. Peter Kaiser's restart took place in a streamlined form. Production in Pirmasens was closed.
