Berkemann invests in Hungary

Shoe manufacturer creates “Cutting Competence Center”

In the coming months, the comfort shoe manufacturer Berkemann from Zeulenroda wants to invest around 1,6 million euros in its three Hungarian production sites. The majority of the investment goes to the Berkemann Group's new “Cutting Competence Center”. For this purpose, modern cutting tables and corresponding hardware and software are purchased, which enable applications in the areas of quality control, warehousing, post-calculation and cutting.

“The investment in the latest machine technologies as well as hardware and software, which are consistently state of the art, is a clear commitment to the company’s location in Hungary,” says Managing Director Thomas Bauerfeind. “It allows us to continue to produce efficiently in Europe, to react flexibly to market events and to have short transport routes within the EU.”
