Online shoe retailer to go to French retailer
The French Beaumanoir group wants to take over the online shoe retailer Sarenza. The online shop currently belongs to the French trading organization Monoprix. With the acquisition of Sarenza, Beaumanoir wants to strengthen its e-commerce activities.
The fashion retailer Sarenza was founded in France in 2005. The pure player offers over 600 brands and is active in 25 markets, including Germany. The Beaumanoir Group has 2.400 points of sale worldwide with brands such as Cache Cache and Bonobo.
The Beaumanoir Group is in exclusive negotiations with Monoprix, which has owned Sarenza since 2018. The price for a possible takeover was not disclosed. Monoprix is part of Group Casino, a French multinational that is struggling with a debt burden of 7,5 billion euros and has been selling assets for several months.
Founder and director Roland Beaumanoir said Sarenza would strengthen the group's "sales and e-commerce activities." “By integrating an online platform dedicated exclusively to the footwear segment, the group would enrich its brands and offerings in its physical stores and reach a new target group of customers who make their purchases via the internet,” said Beaumanoir.
Despite numerous competitors such as Zalando, Sarenza increased its sales by ten percent last year compared to 2020.
