Furniture provider from Mosbach files for second insolvency application within a year and a half

Bama GmbH filed for insolvency at the Mosbach district court on May 2nd. The Mannheim lawyer Dr. Alexander Jüchser ordered.

The manufacturer of shoe care products and insoles had already filed for self-administration insolvency in November 2022. The reason for the application at the time was “significant market distortions and the resulting decline in sales,” it was said at the time. As part of the process, the Hamburg-based MKCP Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH took over the company as an investor.

MKCP calls itself a special situations investor with a focus on special situations such as company successions and bankruptcies. MKCP took over all shares in Bama GmbH as part of a capital increase, including the trademark rights, the product portfolio and the employees.

“We are committed to further developing the brand and putting the company on a growth path,” said Michael Krieger, managing partner of MKCP. To this end, production continued in Gorzów, Poland, and the staff at the Mosbach headquarters was reduced to administrative and sales employees. Most recently, a total of 113 employees worked at eight locations.

With the Bama and Tana brands, Bama is one of the leading providers of shoe care products and insoles, available in over 50 countries. The roots of the Bama Group go back 110 years.
